Our primary goal is to make educational services accessible in order to help school-aged children and adolescents reach their full academic potential and promote their well-being. Through our clients’ testimonials, we recognize that it is not always easy to navigate when seeking help in the field of education. Therefore, we wish to share some information that could be useful to parents and school teams, to help them identify the academic needs of children and adolescents. Educational support is not limited to “helping with homework”: it is based on solid pedagogical, cognitive, and methodological foundations<\/b>.<\/p>

This notably involves:<\/p>

  • Diagnostic assessment of needs<\/b><\/p>

    • Identification of the student’s strengths and challenges<\/b> through observations, informal or standardized tests, and the analysis of their school performance (report card, clinical\/diagnostic evaluations, and teacher questionnaires).<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>

    • Individualized planning<\/b><\/p>

      • Development of a Rehabilitation Plan<\/b> to be implemented during educational therapy sessions (tele-educational therapy or in-person).<\/p><\/li>

      • Choice of tools, resources, and methods adapted to the student’s cognitive profile.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>

      • Implementation of targeted interventions<\/b><\/p>

        • Presenting the student with remediation activities<\/b>, to develop compensatory strategies for better learning at school.<\/p><\/li>

        • Use of the Quebec Ministry of Education’s learning progression scales, structured materials, visual, multi-sensory, or technological strategies, according to needs.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>

        • Monitoring and adjustment<\/b><\/p>

          • Continuous evaluation of progress.<\/p><\/li>

          • Regular adjustment of strategies based on the student’s evolution.<\/p><\/li>

          • Depending on the need, adjustment of the Intervention Plan<\/b> with the school team to ensure the implementation of support measures to promote in-class learning<\/b>.<\/p><\/li>

          • Establishment of an Action Plan<\/b> with the school team; implementation of various support measures to promote in-class behavior<\/b>.<\/p><\/li>

          • Development of the 12-Week Academic Plan<\/b> to ensure independent practice of learning<\/b>, which includes pedagogical activities targeted to the student’s specific needs in reading, writing, and mathematics.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>

          • Interprofessional collaboration<\/b><\/p>

            • Working in close collaboration to ensure consistency of interventions with teachers, parents, specialists, and school professionals (speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, etc.).<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

              I am Houda Nasreddine, “Madame Houda” to my students, one of the few clinical educational therapists in Quebec who practices fluently in French and English<\/b>. With over 20 years of experience<\/b> in public, private, and clinical school environments, I am deeply committed to the success and development of every student<\/b>.<\/p>

              My knowledge of learning disabilities<\/b> and the pedagogical objectives of the Quebec Ministry of Education<\/b> allows me to support students of all levels and with varied difficulties.<\/p>

              My personal story:<\/b> I myself encountered learning difficulties in 3rd grade of primary school<\/b>. Thanks to the kind support of a specialist, I was able to overcome these obstacles and obtain a specialized bachelor’s degree in child development psychology, as well as a master’s degree in educational psychology. This experience fuels my commitment to offering motivating and personalized support<\/b> to every student.<\/p>

              Over the years, I have developed tailored interventions for learners of all ages and backgrounds. These include reading and math camps, homework assistance programs, specialized remediation classes, French language courses, as well as the implementation of curricula integrating translanguaging.<\/p>

              I rely on current, research-based practices to create webinars on topics such as literacy, mindfulness in education, school perseverance, anxiety and motivation, memory and study strategies, problem-solving, executive function development, the impacts of social media, and kindergarten readiness\u2014particularly to support parents.<\/p>

              This year, I founded Universal Learning<\/b> to offer tailored interventions<\/b> in reading, writing, and mathematics. My experience has shown me that it is essential to precisely target the nature of each student’s difficulties<\/b> in order to implement truly effective strategies. Too often, students stagnate due to a lack of adapted support.<\/p>

              At Universal Learning<\/b>, we conduct academic assessments<\/b> in reading, writing, and mathematics, and then develop personalized educational therapy interventions<\/b>, perfectly adapted to the needs of each student.<\/p>

              Since 2010, Houda has been a professional educational therapist specializing in students with learning disabilities. Additionally, Houda integrates mindfulness methods into her interventions, as she is a certified yoga instructor. In addition to her pedagogical expertise in cognitive interventions, consultation with school teams, and dynamic assessment of micro and macro-processes in learning; Houda has developed expertise in innovation in the sector of education, school adaptation, and associated learning disabilities.<\/p>

              Drawing on over 15 years of structured research and practical methodology, she leads innovation projects and consults with schools and health organizations. Her work focuses on designing, managing, and disseminating projects aimed at strengthening learning outcomes for children facing difficulties.<\/p>

              Committed to continuous improvement, Houda shares her expertise through published works, articles, and professional training. Her extensive experience spans all school levels and diverse student populations.
